This is a fix for a regression in 32 bit kernels caused by an invalid check for pgoff overflow in hugetlbfs mmap setup. The check incorrectly specified that the size of a loff_t was the same as the size of a long. The regression prevents mapping hugetlbfs files at offsets greater than 4GB on 32 bit kernels. On 32 bit kernels conversion from a page based unsigned long can not overflow a loff_t byte offset. Therefore, skip this check if sizeof(unsigned long) != sizeof(loff_t). Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
