After allocation the item is being placed on the list right away. Consequently it needs to be taken off the list before freeing in the case xenbus_dev_request_and_reply() failed, as in that case the callback (xenbus_dev_queue_reply()) is not being called (and if it was called, it should do both). These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
