We were returning DUPLEX_UNKNOWN in get_link_ksettings() when the link was down. Unfortunately, this causes a problem when "ethtool -s autoneg on" is issued for a link which is down because the ethtool code first reads the settings and then reapplies them with only the changes provided on the command line. Which results in us diving into set_link_ksettings() with DUPLEX_UNKNOWN which is not DUPLEX_FULL, so set_link_ksettings() throws an -EINVAL error. do not return DUPLEX_UNKNOWN to fix the issue. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
