e8b71d39d5 Bug 1460912 - [testing/profiles] Use the 'common' profile in reftest r=gbrown 
This removes prefs that are already shared between reftest and the 'common' profile from:
testing/profiles/reftest/user.js

And moves prefs that were set in the 'common' profile but not reftest to both:
testing/profiles/unittest/user.js
testing/profiles/perf/user.js

862e0f0951 Bug 1460912 - [testing/profiles] Add a ./profile rm subcommand for removing prefs from a profile r=rwood 
Usage is:
./profile rm <profile> [<file>]

The file is a list of prefs, one per line, to remove. The file defaults to stdin, so the culmination
of the last three commits is the ability to do:

./profile diff reftest common -f names -k same | ./profile rm reftest

The above command will remove from the reftest profile, the prefs that are identical in both
reftest and common. This method is quicker and less error prone than doing it manually (which
was how I was doing this previously).

848da85cb2 Bug 1460912 - [testing/profiles] Add --format options to ./profile diff r=rwood 
The main purpose of this change is to add some structured formats to the
diff. In future commits, the output of |./profile diff ...| will be used
as inputs to other ./profile commands.

The intent of all this work is to make it easier to programmatically
manipulate the pref files when adding in new suites. For example, I want
to say "Automatically remove all prefs from the reftest profile that are
shared with the common profile".

162414134e Bug 1458571 - Make talos and raptor use the 'common' base profile, r=rwood 
This factors out the prefs that are common across raptor, talos and
mochitest/web-platform-tests. In order to do this a new "unittest" profile has
been created.

This means, to set a pref across everything that uses this system, edit:
testing/profiles/common/user.js

To set a pref across unittest frameworks (which excludes raptor and talos),
edit:
testing/profiles/unittest/user.js

Setting a pref for perf frameworks only remains the same. Extensions follow
the same rules (drop them in <profile>/extensions).

c15fc95f29 Bug 1458571 - Add a script for diffing and sorting preferences, r=rwood 
The main purpose of this script is to gain a view into the state of prefs
between various profiles or suites. There are three commands:

- show: Display prefs for the given profile or suite
- diff: Display differences of prefs between two profiles or suites
- sort: Sort pref files alphabetically for the given suite (this takes comments into account)

This also sorts common/user.js.

970f7e41b1 Bug 1458571 - Use base testing/profiles in raptor, r=rwood 
This gets raptor to use the newly created "perf" profile that talos
also uses. There is a single pref that raptor sets that we can't set
in talos. To that end, this also creates a "raptor" specific profile.

This means to set a pref in talos and raptor, edit:
testing/profiles/perf/user.js

To set a pref in raptor only, edit:
testing/profiles/raptor/user.js

The performance of extensions can now be tested by dropping the
extension into:
testing/profiles/perf/extensions

afea2c586c Bug 1458571 - Use base testing/profiles in talos, r=rwood 
This moves all of the global prefs that were previously defined
in testing/talos/talos/config.py, into a new "perf" profile under
testing/profiles/perf/user.js.

This perf profile will be shared with raptor, so changes to one
framework will result in changes to the other.

ac08b89a81 Bug 1459598 - Use profiles.json file to map test suites to the base profiles they use, r=jgraham 
This serves two purposes:

1) It makes web-platform-tests pref downloading/handling a little more robust. When
run externally, it now downloads the entire testing/profiles directory. When loading
prefs it will look for both prefs_general.js (to support older versions of Firefox)
and profiles.json (for support moving forward).

This way we can add/remove/rename pref files under these directories without needing
to worry about breaking upstream wpt.

2) It provides developers an overview of which harnesses are using which base profiles.
Instead of hunting through test harness code to find this information, they can glance
at profiles.json.

common profile. Dropping extension files here will get them installed in all
test harnesses (useful for testing on try).

The idea is that all test harnesses will eventually use this 'common' profile.
We'll also create some new per harness profiles, e.g testing/profiles/mochitest
and testing/profiles/reftest. This way there will be a single location
developers can go to set preferences, both for a specific harness, and across
all harnesses.

c86636e65f Bug 1433485 - Update test prefs for telemetry; r=mythmon,dexter 
Set pref datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled=false during mochitests
and set pref toolkit.telemetry.server to a dummy server during reftests
(uploadEnabled was already false for reftest and the telemetry server was
already set for mochitests - now these prefs are consistent).

Some mochitests failed with this change; they are updated to
set datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled where required.

42f4510bf1 Bug 1424030 - Fix integer overflow of places.database.lastMaintenance in testing/profiles/prefs_general.js. r=standard8. 
Bug 1382444 added this line to testing/profiles/prefs_general.js:

> user_pref("places.database.lastMaintenance", 7258114800);

(7258114800 seconds after 1970 is the start of the year 2200.)

libpref stores integers prefs as int32_t and the current parser doesn't detect
overflow. So this overflows to -1331819792. (I detected this with the new prefs
parser from bug 1423840, which does detect integer overflow.) As a result the
condition testing this pref in
toolkit/components/places/PlacesCategoriesStarter.js ends up always succeeding
in tests, which is the exact opposite of what was intended.

This patch changes it to 2147483647 (the year 2038), the maximum int32_t value.
