9e1116af2d fix for #6031. the summary file names for newsgroups are based on 
the newsgroup name.  if the name is too long for the native file
system, use the hash function to come up with a new name.

move that has code out of xp_hash.c and into newsSummarySpec.cpp

in 4.x, this was the only place it was used anyways.

fix my debugging printf.

re-arrange addressbook makefiles in mailnews/makefiles so that people
who use obj-dir can build.

2ea4cc8729 fix for #4264 - move fe_GetConfigDir into libxp, because that is in-memory and available for components to use 
I've heard rumors that this will break mac, but I'll be able to fix it in one cycle
This allows components that don't link against libpref to be loaded and not crash

ecaf8cc5e2 Fix bug #3405. Thanks to sfraser's research we discovered that there was a nasty problem caused by mactime.c including xp_mcom.h (added by brade on 3/3) causing ctime to be redefined as macctime. This is bad since macctime calls ctime (can you say recursion, recusrion, recusrsion...). Fix was to add an #undef for ctime after including xp_mcom.h and sacrificing a purple dinosaur. 1999-03-05 05:39:20 +00:00

a58105db04 Added a new InitializeMacToolbox() to NSStdLib (declared in macstdlibextras.h) and exported it. This makes all the Mac Toolbox Init calls, and also (if DEBUG) initializes SIOUX without menus. Safe to call this multiple times (it has a static boolean). Removed toolbox initialization from constructor of nsAppShell, and called InitializeMacToolbox() instead. df728321d8 Added all the nucache files to the memory module project (as a group) so that NU_CACHE can be turned on with a flick of the wrist, made the modular memory library build with the NU_CACHE flag turned on, fixed build warnings and errors. 65038e9551 Removing static makefiles as a part of the transition to Autoconf. I have taken great 
care to only remove makefiles affailiated with building nglayout. I have also verified that
the build at this point in time succesfully builds with autoconf.

If you must recover one of these makefiles, you can use the static tag STATIC_MAKEFILES.

4861392800 This change is realy cool. The compositor gets enabled at the end of layout 
rather than at the beginning, so, we don't see a blank page between URL
traversals at all.  The earlier page remains visible until the new page has
pixels that can be shown, and then, BANG, the new page becomes visible.

Gone are the days when we have to stare at a blank page while layout occurs.

Fixed layer properties.  Links and images-within-links get the right appearance
even when there are no style rules.  Started on lo_SetStyleSheetBoxProperties.
Don't force the creation of a style db, ever.  Handle style-system failures
more gracefully.  Update to use ACTIVE_NODE where appropriate.

409b28fe50 Resizing from the middle of the document was resetting the scrollbar to the 
top and then setting it back to the remember position.  Fixed the unnecessary
up and down jumping of the scrollbar.

bb8022c4f8 Fix for Bugzilla bug 492. We were inserting the floating element for the 
left/right aligned tables into the line list at the beginning of the list
rather than the end.  This caused re-ordering of floating tables as well
as display problems.

a0aa29a6e4 something is wrong. for whatever reason there was a -DNO_SECURITY 
that was always enabled, whether security was enabled or not. this caused
a confusion on the compile line, there -DMOZ_SECURITY and -DNO_SECURITY would
be simultaneously defined.
as a temporary hack, duplicate the logic on mozilla/config/config.mk
so that ifdef NO_SECURITY -DNO_SECURITY, else -DMOZ_SECURITY.

what a mess. this needs to be fixed right.
