d2ce733c6a Bug 1574852 - part 62: Move HTMLEditRules::TryToJoinBlocksWithTransaction() to HTMLEditor r=m_kato
Additionally, `WSRunObject::ScrabBlockBoundary()` and
`WSRunObject::PreparetToJoinBlocks()` are used only the it. Therefore, we
can clean them up.

4fe540db19 Bug 1547897 - Make WSRunObject stop scanning outside of editing host r=m_kato
`WSRunObject` scans previous and next node of given point/range **without**
checking editing host boundary. Therefore, its methods may return non-editable
nodes or editable nodes in another editing host. In such cases, `HTMLEditRules`
is confused.

This patch makes it store editing host at initialization and it check the
boundary. However, the former cost may appear in score of some benchmark
tests, but we shouldn't allow attackers to use this entrance.

4579004eac Bug 1549319 - Make template methods marked as MOZ_CAN_RUN_SCRIPT take only EditorDOMPoint (i.e., not allow EditorRawDOMPoint) r=m_kato
It'd be better to change copy constructor of `EditorDOMPointBase` to explicit,
but it'd require too many changes in editor code. So, this patch just changes
each method callers only.

a50a0700d4 Bug 1530649 - Improve composition string handling which ends with whitespaces r=m_kato
If insertion string ends with ASCII whitespace and there is no following
content in the block, `HTMLEditRules::AdjustWhitespaces()` needs to insert
`<br>` element. It's called only by `HTMLEditRules::AfterEditInner()` and
that does only simple things with `WSRunObject`. Therefore, this moves the
code into `AfterEditInner()`.

For making it adjust the whitespaces, `HTMLEditRules::WillInsertText()` needs
to notify `AfterEditInner()` of dirty range with `mDocChangeRange`. Therefore,
this patch makes it set `mDocChangeRange` manually after inserting composition
string.

On the other hand, there is another bug. `WSRunObject` was designed to treat
only inserting text for `WSRunObject::InsertText()`. I.e., not designed to
treat replacing existing composition string with new string. Therefore,
`WSRunObject::InsertText()` adjusts whitespaces only around start of
composition string. Therefore, if composition string ends with an ASCII
whitespace, it's not replaced with NBSP and that causes:
- failing `WSRunObject::AdjustWhitespaces()` inserts `<br>` element at
  `AfterEditInner()` of committing composition.
- then, next composition's first `WSRunObject::InsertText()` removes the
  last whitespace due to not followed by `<br>` nor any other content.
Therefore, this patch makes `WSRunObject` takes 2 DOM points to be able to
treat replaced range.

In strictly speaking, the latter change require more changes and tests for
supporting replacement with any other methods. However, it's risky and out
of scope of this bug.

3e64f2c30d Bug 1539356 - Mark EditorBase::InsertNodeTransaction() as MOZ_CAN_RUN_SCRIPT r=m_kato
This patch marks `EditorBase::InsertNodeTransaction()` **and** its callers as `MOZ_CAN_RUN_SCRIPT`.

Unfortunately, this patch tells us that some `GetSomething()` methods may destroy the editor since `HTMLEditRules::GetNodesForOperation()`, `HTMLEditRules::GetNodesFromPoint()` and `HTMLEditRules::GetNodesFromSelection()` may change the DOM tree. Additionally, initialization methods may destroy the editor since it may insert a bogus `<br>` node.

Note that this patch also removes some unused methods. I.e., they are not result of some cleaning up the code. This patch just avoids marking unused methods as `MOZ_CAN_RUN_SCRIPT`.

d2ed260822 Bug 1517241 - Rename nsIDocument to mozilla::dom::Document. r=smaug
Summary: Really sorry for the size of the patch. It's mostly automatic
s/nsIDocument/Document/ but I had to fix up in a bunch of places manually to
add the right namespacing and such.

Overall it's not a very interesting patch I think.

nsDocument.cpp turns into Document.cpp, nsIDocument.h into Document.h and
nsIDocumentInlines.h into DocumentInlines.h.

I also changed a bunch of nsCOMPtr usage to RefPtr, but not all of it.

While fixing up some of the bits I also removed some unneeded OwnerDoc() null
checks and such, but I didn't do anything riskier than that.

cb95d44ffc Bug 1500862 - part 3: Change all stack base helper classes which access protected members of EditorBase to nested classes of EditorBase r=m_kato
AutoTransactionBatch, AutoPlaceholderBatch, AutoSelectionRestorer,
AutoTopLevelEditSubActionNotifier, AutoTransactionsConserveSelection and
AutoUpdateViewBatch access protected members of EditorBase. The access
scope management assume that they are used only by EditorBase or its
subclasses or TextEditRules or its inherited class (i.e., HTMLEditRules).

For guaranteeing this at build-time, we should change them to nested classes
of EditorBase. Then, EditorBase and its subclasses and friends can use them.

d3b4ee4c97 Bug 1483434 - Allow nullptr parameter for PriorVisibleNode and NextVisibleNode. r=masayuki
Summary:
Sometimes the caller of PriorVisibleNode or NextVisibleNode doesn't use
outVisNode and/or outvisOffset. But both methods require all parameters and
it don't allow nullptr. It is complex whether parameter is used or unused.

So I would like to allow nullptr.

Also, this methods can change to const method, so I will change some methods
to const method too for this change.

537b829474 Bug 1447213 - Change editor methods which take |const EditorRawDOMPoint&| but called with EditorDOMPoint.AsRaw() to template methods r=m_kato
A lot of methods take |const EditorRawDOMPoint&| as their argument. However,
some of them are called with EditorDOMPoint::AsRaw(). This is not good for
performance because:
1. Needs to create temporary instance of EditorRawDOMPoint.
2. EditorRawDOMPoint::AsRaw() may be used by simple mistake.
3. Such methods may call EditorRawDOMPoint::Offset(), however, it's not copied
   to the original EditorDOMPoint instance. So, callers may need to compute
   offset again.

So, such methods should be changed to template methods if they are not virtual
method and AsRaw() should be gotten rid of for prevent it looking not expensive.

456069944a Bug 1445569 - part 2: Make WSRunObject::PriorVisibleNode() and WSRunObject::NextVisibleNode() take |const Editor(Raw)DOMPoint&| instead of a pair of |nsINode*| and offset in it r=m_kato
Similar to the constructor of WSRunObject, PriorVisibleNode() and
NextVisibleNode() callers may become ugly if the callers start to use
Editor(Raw)DOMPoint. So, let's make them take Editor(Raw)DOMPoint instead of
a pair of nsINode* and offset in it.

Note that a lot of callers of them already use Editor(Raw)DOMPoint. So, we
don't need to keep maintain overloads which takes nsINode* and offset in it
directly.

fb2eb05e02 Bug 1445569 - part 1: Create WSRunObject constructor which takes |const Editor(Raw)DOMPoint&| instead of |nsINode*| and offset in it r=m_kato
The following patches make some WSRunObject users use EditorRawDOMPoint or
EditorDOMPoint instead of a pair of nsINode and offset in it. Then, the
code becomes too long like:

> WSRunObject object(mHTMLEditor, pointToDoSomething.GetContainer(),
>                    pointToDoSomething.Offset());

This is ugly and not easier to read than:

> WSRunObject object(mHTMLEditor, pointToDoSomething);

So, we should create alternative constructor of WSRunObject first.

18f7821c7b Bug 1425997 - Don't try to remove whitespaces in WSRunObject::ConvertToNBSP() when the text node is changed by mutation observer r=m_kato
WSRunObject::ConvertToNBSP() inserts an NBSP, then, removes following ASCII
whitespaces. When inserting an NBSP, mutation observer may change the
text node. In this case, it shouldn't keep working on removing ASCII
whitespaces because it may causes unexpected result.

This patch also renames ConvertToNBSP() and GetAsciiWSBounds() to
InsertNBSPAndRemoveFollowingASCIIWhitespaces() and
GetASCIIWhitespacesBounds() for making their jobs clearer.

b75f048daa Bug 1408227 - part 5: Redesign GetCharAfter(), GetCharBefore(), GetWSPointAfter() and GetWSPointBefore() of WSRunObject r=m_kato
WSRunObject::GetChar(After|Before)(nsINode*, int32_t) returns next/previous
character's DOM point as WSPoint. If the container node is a text node in
mNodeArray, it calls WSRunObject::GetChar(After|Before)(const WSPoint&) which
returns next/previous offset if the point isn't end/start of the text node.
If the point is at end/start of the text node, it returns start/end of
next/previous text node in mNodeArray. If the container node is not a text
node in mNodeArray, it calls WSRunObject::GetWSPoint(After|Before)(). It looks
for next/previous text node in mNodeArray from the point. Then, it calls
WSRunObject::GetChar(After|Before)(const WSPoint&) and returns the result.

So, we should rename GetCharAfter() to GetNextCharPoint(), GetCharBefore() to
GetPreviousCharPoint(), GetWSPointAfter() to GetNextCharPointInternal() and
GetWSPointBefore() to GetPreviousCharPointInternal().

Then, they should take |const EditorRawDOMPoint&| instead of a set of container
node and offset in it.

So, looks like that "WS"RunObject is not good name for this class, perhaps,
AutoTextRunManager or something? But I'm still not sure.

8b6c211c36 Bug 1408544 - part 1: Reimplement EditorDOMPoint as a subclass of RangeBoundary r=catalinb,m_kato
A lot of methods in editor returns a child offset with an out param when it
returns its container and offset in the container. This is ugly hack for
performance of nsINode::IndexOf(). However, there are a lot of regression
since the relation between offset and child node can be broken really easily.

So, we should make EditorDOMPoint as a subclass of RangeBoundary and manage
a set of container, reference child and its offset in it (e.g.,
SetNextSibling() added by this patch).

Note that RangeBoundary's performance is not good for temporary use if we set
a point with offset, it immediately retrieves mRef. The following patch will
improve this performance.

395775be56 Bug 1260651 part.47 Rename nsWSRunObject to mozilla::WSRunObject (and also their file names) r=mccr8
Perhaps, there may be better name like WhitespaceRunObject or something, however, for now keep using the term because I don't understand well what it does.

With this patch, following objects are renamed:

nsWSRunObject -> mozilla::WSRunObject
WSType -> mozilla::WSType
nsWSRunObject::WSFragment -> mozilla::WSRunObject::WSFragment
nsWSRunObject::WSPoint -> mozilla::WSRunObject::WSPoint
