4cb5ee5a2d Bug 1712358 - Call NotifyWait() when the native event loop goes idle. This fixes unintended BHR hang reports when we are in a nested native event loop, such as when a menu is open. r=florian
The 'BHR-detected hang' markers in these profiles show the difference:

d1a5db2079 Bug 1700710 - Stop watching for "com.apple.HIToolbox.beginMenuTrackingNotification" notifications. r=harry
We have at least four different pieces of code that try to make sure our
non-native menus get closed in all the scenarios where a native menu would close.
This is one them.

It covers the following case:
 1. Open a non-native menu, for example a bookmarks toolbar folder.
 2. Right-click somewhere outside of Firefox to open a native menu from another app.

Now the non-native menu should close.

However, this code doesn't seem to be needed; the same scenario is also covered
by the call to RollUpPopups in [WindowDelegate windowDidResignKey:] (when Firefox
has focus) and by nsCocoaWindow::CaptureRollupEvents (when Firefox does not have
focus - it even installs a global mouse event monitor for this scenario).

So I think we can just remove this code. It causes trouble when opening a native
context menu on top of (inside of) a non-native panel like the Downloads panel or
a bookmarks toolbar folder dropdown.

I skipped anything in third-party libraries. There's also one instance in plugin code but it'll be removed as part of the plugin removal effort.

70b5de2b6d Bug 1694000 - Restrict the MOZ_CRASH for uncaught exceptions in the event loop to the Nightly channel. r=spohl
This reduces risk while we gather an inventory of exceptions that are outside
our control and which we want to ignore.

We still log all (non-ignored) exceptions in Beta/Release builds, we just don't
crash for them. So if something else later causes a crash, we will still see the
information in crash reports.

e81702af5f Bug 1693434 - Report uncaught Objective C exceptions. r=spohl
NSSetUncaughtExceptionHandler installs a handler which is called just before we
would crash anyway, I think. So this handler lets us collect information about
exceptions that are not even caught by the native event loop.

2416d881e2 Bug 1691589 - Reduce reliance on GeckoProfiler.h when only labels (and maybe markers) are needed - r=necko-reviewers,geckoview-reviewers,sg,agi,florian
There are no code changes, only #include changes.
It was a fairly mechanical process: Search for all "AUTO_PROFILER_LABEL", and in each file, if only labels are used, convert "GeckoProfiler.h" into "ProfilerLabels.h" (or just add that last one where needed).
In some files, there were also some marker calls but no other profiler-related calls, in these cases "GeckoProfiler.h" was replaced with both "ProfilerLabels.h" and "ProfilerMarkers.h", which still helps in reducing the use of the all-encompassing "GeckoProfiler.h".

b0e6709e13 Bug 1476250 - Simplify HAL initialization and shutdown to reduce the chance of leaks and UAFs r=froydnj
This patch initializes some HAL components greedily so that we can get rid of
lazy initializers within the code. Observers are still lazily initialized
because they can be instanced within content processes but that doesn't always
happen and we don't want to pay the memory price for structures we don't use.

Shutdown is now happening at a fixed time for all HAL components save
WakeLocks. This ensures that we don't destroy an object while still iterating
over it, something that could happen before.

Finally a workaround for a compiler limitation has been removed.

10ff9c706f Bug 1448040 - Remove HangMonitor/ChromeHangs r=Nika
Fairly straightforward, just a blanket removal. Haven't heard
anything on dev-platform or fx-data-dev regarding this removal,
so I think it's likely safe to remove on Nightly, and we can
revert if anyone makes a fuss.

As part of removing the HangMonitor, I renamed a few things and
reorganized the namespaces to not depend on a HangMonitor
namespace. Hopefully this doesn't produce too much noise in the
diff, it just seemed appropriate to move everything around
rather than keep dangling vestiges of the old system.

87bf13e093 Bug 1448040 - Remove HangMonitor/ChromeHangs r=Nika
Fairly straightforward, just a blanket removal. Haven't heard
anything on dev-platform or fx-data-dev regarding this removal,
so I think it's likely safe to remove on Nightly, and we can
revert if anyone makes a fuss.

As part of removing the HangMonitor, I renamed a few things and
reorganized the namespaces to not depend on a HangMonitor
namespace. Hopefully this doesn't produce too much noise in the
diff, it just seemed appropriate to move everything around
rather than keep dangling vestiges of the old system.

abf5056ead Bug 1462784 - Remove EVENTS category. r=njn
Categories are useful to indicate: This much % of time was spent in this category.

The EVENTS category isn't a very good match for this. This category is currently
only set on labels of functions that handle the processing of an event. But
those functions are usually closer to the base of the stack, and the actual CPU
work during the processing of an event is usually in another category closer to
the top of the stack, e.g. in JS if we're running an event handler, or in LAYOUT
if we're hit testing the position of the event.

This changeset removes the EVENTS category and replaces all uses of it with the
OTHER category.

c599481d78 Bug 1373888 - part7 : modify platform wakelocks. r=cpearce,snorp,spohl
* OSX
Make the lock of the type kIOPMAssertionTypeNoDisplaySleep and kIOPMAssertionTypeNoIdleSleep
as a singleton. Won't need to require an extra lock.

* Windows
Add |mRequireForDisplay| to ensure the "audio-playing" won't overwrite the previous
display requirement.

* Android
Add "audio-playing" and "video-playing", and make sure the audio-lock won't be cancel
when receiving "WakeLockDelegate.STATE_LOCKED_BACKGROUND".
