f8f98629f3 Bug 1046109: Cleanup |UnixSocketImpl|, r=kyle
This patch cleans up |UnixSocketImpl| and it's file in general. The
patch

 - renames |UnixSocketImpl| to |UnixSocketConsumerIO|,
 - moves method definitions out of class definition,
 - adds const correctness,
 - adds MOZ_FINAL to several classes,
 - moves task classes to a separate location.

No functional changes are performed.

95063176fa Bug 1036894 part 9 - Replace all EXTRA_DSO_LDOPTS, SHARED_LIBRARY_LIBS and LIBS with EXTRA_LIBS, OS_LIBS or OS_LDFLAGS, appropriately. r=gps
OS_LIBS for libraries that are not part of the gecko tree, EXTRA_LIBS for
libraries, such as NSPR, that are in the tree, but are not handled by
moz.build just yet. Those EXTRA_LIBS may also come from a system library.
However, in cases where the expanded variables are always empty for the
in-tree case, OS_LIBS is used (as for, e.g. MOZ_ZLIB_LIBS). OS_LDFLAGS is
used exclusively for non-library linker flags.

Always pass EXTRA_LIBS before OS_LIBS on linker command lines.

Forbid EXTRA_DSO_LDOPTS, SHARED_LIBRARY_LIBS and LIBS in Makefiles.

e4ced412bb Bug 973090 - IPC remoting for child GC/CC logging. r=mccr8, r=bent
This has a few semi-interdependent pieces:

* Factoring out the file opening/closing/renaming from the GC/CC logging.

* Using IPC to have the child log to files that the parent opened.

* Changing nsIMemoryInfoDumper.dumpGCAndCCLogsToFile to report completion
of child process logging (which was impossible before this, and which is
needed to have a meaningful test case).

* Changing about:memory to dump logs for child processes, matching the
behavior of the "Measure" button, because it can tell the user where
  they are now.

* Add a test for multiprocess GC/CC log dumping (only of the XPCOM
interface, not by clicking buttons and scraping the about:memory page,
but done as a chrome mochitest to start remote browsers); based on
  test_memoryReporters2.xul in the same directory.

cbd14014a8 Bug 977672: Cleanup runnables and tasks in UnixSocket.cpp, r=kyle
This patch cleans up runnables and tasks in UnixSocket.cpp. Every
runnable's name now ends in Runnable. There are a base classes for
runnables and tasks that hold reference to UnixSocketImpl and from
which all runnables and tasks inherit.

b1f27db3bd Bug 977672: Assert O_NONBLOCK for watched file descriptors, r=kyle
We cannot use blocking file-descriptor I/O on the I/O thread. This
patch adds an assertion to UnixFdWatcher the tests for the O_NONBLOCK
flag, when installing a file descriptor. In UnixFileWatcher, the
Open method tests for the O_NONBLOCK flag for the opened file.

File-descriptor flags for UnixSocketImpl et al are currently set by
UnixSocketImpl itself. Later patches should move this into the
methods of connector classes.

df970eb457 Bug 972265: Maintain connect delay in UnixSocketConsumer, r=kyle
UnixSocketConsumer now maintains a delay for re-establishing closed
connection. The initial delay is zero, so that the first connect call
is processed immediately. At the first failed attempt to connect, the
delay is set to ~1 second, and is increased by a factor of 2 on each
successive error until it reaches ~1 minute.

The UnixSocketConsumer code resets the delay to zero if it is lower
than the time that the connection was open. This heuristics protects
against cases where the peer establishes a connection, and closes it
shortly afterwards. Incompatible versions of rild show this behavior.

f8933f1178 Bug 956841: Respect DBusWatch flags in I/O-thread watchers, r=qdot
Currently DBusWatcher registers read and write watchers on
the I/O thread unconditionally. Thus for read-only DBusWatch
structures, the write watcher on the I/O thread generates a
significant amount of CPU overhead by constantly reporting
success via calls to OnFileCanWriteWithoutBlocking.

This patch changes DBusWatcher to respect the status flags
of supplied DBusWatch structures. It will only poll for
read or write status if the DBus watch has the corresponding
flag set.

DBus keeps track of these flags and calls the toggle callback
when it needs to wait on a certain DBusWatch.

49a80cc332 Bug 932728: Run DBus on the I/O thread, r=qdot
This patch converts DBusWatcher to run on the I/O thread. When a
caller starts DBus, StartDBus creates a new connection and adds
it to the I/O thread's poll loop. DBusWatchers are created and
removed automatically by the DBus libary.

The I/O thread provides all features of the DBus thread. So most
of the existing code has been removed or rewritten. The former
includes the control socket and the DBus thread, the latter is in
the DBusWatcher code.

Using a private DBus connection gives each of its users, such as

62cee4b707 Bug 944935 - Cleanup some useless AC_CHECK_FUNCS tests in configure.in. r=gps
- HAVE_RANDOM is not checked at all.
- HAVE_STRERROR is not checked in code built using the defines from the main
  configure.
- HAVE_LCHOWN is only checked in nsinstall.c, which means the test is also wrong
since it's checking for the target instead of the host. Also, lchown is only
used of the -o and -g options of nsinstall, which, as far as I know, we don't
use (and if we were, that would fail with nsinstall.py, which explicitly rejects
  them).
- HAVE_FCHMOD is only checked in nsinstall.c, so same as above about the
correctness of the check. If it's not available, nsinstall.c falls back to
chmod, which is fine enough for our use.
- HAVE_SNPRINTF is not checked.
- HAVE_MEMMOVE is checked in parser/expat/lib/xmlparse.c, but it's also
unconditionally defined in expat_config.h which is included from that file.
- HAVE_SETBUF is checked in a couple files, but setbuf is C89 and C99, I think
it's safe to assume all compilers we support are C89 and C99. Interestingly,
windows does have it, but since we skip this check on windows, we don't use it.
- HAVE_ISATTY, same as HAVE_SETBUF, except it's POSIX instead of C89/C99.
- HAVE_FLOCKFILE is not checked at all.
- HAVE_STRTOK_R is not checked.
- HAVE_FT_SELECT_SIZE is not checked.
- HAVE_DLADDR is not checked under js/src.
- HAVE_GETPAGESIZE is not checked under js/src (it is in libffi, but ffi uses
  its own configure)
- HAVE_LSTAT64, HAVE_STAT64, HAVE_STATVFS, HAVE_STATVFS64, HAVE_TRUNCATE64 are
  not checked under js/src.
- HAVE_SBRK is not checked under js/src. Moreover,
js/src/assembler/wtf/Platform.h defines it depending on the platform.
- HAVE_SNPRINTF is not checked under js/src.
- HAVE_HYPOT is not checked under js/src.
- HAVE__UNWIND_BACKTRACE is not checked under js/src.
