3e389d5b45 Bug 1452597 - Remove debug_script functionality for injected scripts. r=maja_zf 
The WebDriver:ExecuteScript and WebDriver:ExecuteAsyncScript commands
accepts a "debug_script" parameter that attaches an error handler
on the WindowProxy in the sandbox.

This used to be necessary because the error handler used to be
attached to the content window instead of the sandbox.

edb0e19511 Bug 1452483 - Use relative path to source file for injected scripts. r=maja_zf 
The basename is not sufficient to locate the file.  Using the file's
relative path will match the behaviour of JavaScript stacktraces.

We can't use relative paths on Windows because the source file may
exist on another disk drive, and on Windows you cannot make relative
paths across disk drives because they don't share the same root.

578b658ea0 Bug 1452483 - Strip whitespace from injected scripts. r=maja_zf 
The injected script may contain a lot of whitespace padding on
either side of the string when using multi-line strings ("""foo""")
in Python.  To improve readability of the trace log we can strip
it off before sending it to Marionette.

340ebbc7bd Bug 1451727 - [marionette] Remove deprecated WebDriver commands. r=ato 
Removes the following deprecated WebDriver commands from marionette
client: Element.size, Element.location, set_script_timeout,
set_search_timeout, and set_page_load_timeout.

It doesn't touch get_window_position, set_window_position,
window_size, and set_window_size because those are covered
by bug 1348145.

105a8df3da Bug 1451727 - [marionette] Update vendor specific commands to use custom prefixes. r=ato 
All chrome context related commands have to use the "Marionette"
prefix. For those commands which accidentally have been put under
the "WebDriver" prefix a fallback to the old command is needed
in the Marionette client.

Also update related comments about possible removal dates.

d5fa7501a9 Bug 1449862 - [marionette] Check for available port each time before starting binary. r=ato 
To prevent race conditions when a formerly started Firefox instance is
still claiming the port of the server socket, the port availability has
to be checked each time before the binary gets started. Otherwise the
client could accidentally connect to the wrong process, and also would
run the remaining tests with it.

77efd9020a Bug 1401129 - Restore extensions.shield-recipe-client.api_url in automation tools. r=whimboo 
The extensions.shield-recipe-client.api_url preference was
replaced with app.normandy.api_url in bug 1436113.  There are
multiple automation tools in the tree that target out-of-tree
release channels and removing the old preference would break these.

This patch re-adds the old preference with a note of when it was removed.

3ca71a66e9 Bug 1401129 - Restore datareporting.healthreport.about.reportUrl in automation tools. r=whimboo 
The datareporting.healthreport.about.reportUrl preference was removed
in bug 1352497, but there are multiple automation tools in the tree
that target out-of-tree release channels.

This patch restores the preference with a note that it was removed
in Firefox 59.

2522cd1b36 Bug 1444404 - Use default (true) value for browser.newtabpage.enabled for testing. r=jmaher 
Before bug 1383599, the pref had effectively been always true as about:newtab always just loaded activity stream. Switching the test pref to be true matches the old behavior to fix the AWSY regression to later decide what this pref should be for testing in bug 1444498.

f354075c7a Bug 1434430 - [flake8] Fix blank 'except' statements r=rwood 
This is a new issue that gets linted with flake8 3.5.0. Basically you should
never use a blank except: statement.

This will catch all exceptions, including KeyboardInterrupt and SystemExit
(which is likely not intended). If a catch all is needed, use
`except: Exception`.  If you *really* mean to also catch KeyboardInterrupt et
al, use `except: BaseException`.

Of course, being specific is often better than a catch all.

4982c07af4 Bug 1433497 - Include new Marionette prefs in Python client. r=whimboo 
Some time ago the Marionette server renamed a couple of preferences to
be more in line with the naming scheme of other preferences in Gecko.
Unfortunately we forgot to update the Marionette Python client to
include these.

This patch does not remove the older preference names because there
is no need to unnecessarily break the client when it is used with
older Firefox versions, although in theory it is now safe to remove them.

user profile, the tests should be able to change the user profile.

This will enable tests to cover specific bugs in the application as
caused by the profile name and path.

To prevent dataloss changing the profile should only be allowed
when the application is not running.

60613594fe Bug 1341466 - Stop Marionette test run when Android emulator is unresponsive; r=automatedtester 
The clean-up code in FennecInstance now counts and logs consecutive DMErrors.
The Marionette clean-up code then throws an UnresponsiveInstanceException
if we hit consecutive errors more than twice, which interrupts the
test run entirely. (Previously, MarionetteTestRunner would just keep running
tests despite consecutive clean-up failures, and eventually it would time out.)

This change allows us to take advantage of the retry mechanism in the
mozharness script that runs all Android tests: it sets the job status to "retry"
if it finds DMError in the test log after the run_tests step is done.

7a50842880 Bug 1418227 - Indicate that sock instance is private. r=automatedtester 
The sock instance in TcpTransport should not be modified by code
outside of the class. As such indicate it least as private.

In case another application is still using the port, and the
handshake with Marionette server is not successful, the
function should return immediately. Otherwise it has to continue
to wait until a successful connection has been made..

be10891d69 Bug 1414882 - Add handshake to Marionette client. r=ato 
A connection to Marionette server should only be accepted
if the application type equals to 'gecko', and the protocol
version as returned is supported by the client.

30459eae54 Bug 1414882 - Remove wait_for_port in favor of raise_for_port. r=ato 
wait_for_port() is defined to return a boolean value, which
makes it impossible to return more detailed information in
case of a connection cannot be established. Further the
raise_for_port() method is a simple wrapper, without any
additional usage.

f4dd5e2636 Bug 1414096 (attempt 2) - Remove support for nsISupportsString values in nsPrefBranch::{get,set}ComplexValue(). r=florian. 
Bug 1345294 introduced nsPrefBranch::{get,set}StringPref(), which allowed the
getting of utf8 strings from prefs, which previously required using
nsISupportsString with {get,set}ComplexValue. That bug also converted most
uses.

This patch finishes the job.

- It removes the nsISupportsString support.

- It converts existing code that relied on the nsISupportsString.

- It removes the lint that was set up to detect such uses of nsISupportsString.

4b8ddfe81b Bug 1413852 - TcpTransport.receive() doesn't obey current socket timeout. r=automatedtester 
The getter for socket_timeout should always return the current socket
timeout from the socket instance first, and only fallback to the
private property if no socket instance exists.

This ensures that all methods will always operate on the current
socket timeout value.

Also using a timeout of 2s for receiving the hello string might be too
less for slow running builds. To prevent intermittent failures for
start_session, a good value might be 60s.
