66e382f5b2 Bug 1538983 Convert button xbl binding to a custom element r=bgrins
As of this change, instances of xul <button> use a custom element.
The button-base xbl binding remains for now, since it is still used
by toolbarbutton, it will be removed soon.

3675f2449b Bug 1534395 - Rename nsITabParent to nsIRemoteTab. r=nika,mconley
nsITabParent is exposed to frontend code and is generally used as a representation of a remote tab. We could just rename the interface to nsIBrowserParent and worry about it later, but I think it's better to rename the interface to nsIRemoteTab so that we can later work on splitting the interface away from the PBrowser protocol.

Note: Some frontend code refers to a TabParentId. This commit renames this to RemoteTabId. We need to figure out the purpose of TabId with fission.

It's against spec, and the auxclick event is now available and easier to use
(fired on all elements rather than just window/document and text fields)
Can't stop dispatching them entirely since frontend code is too reliant on it.

4a6f84f91d Bug 1544834 - Replace deprecated generics in test code r=evilpie
- `Array.map` becomes `Array.from`
- Array copying via `Array.slice` becomes `Array.from`.
- `Array.forEach` that did not rely on closures becomes `for`-`of` loops.
- Anything else: `Array.X` becomes `Array.prototype.X`.

Complex cases:

dom/bindings/test/TestInterfaceJS.js and
dom/bindings/test/test_exception_options_from_jsimplemented.html
use `Array.indexOf` to generate an error with a specific error message.
Switched to `Array.prototype.forEach` to generate the same error.

js/src/jit-test/tests/basic/exception-column-number.js
In this test `Array.indexOf()` is used to generate an error. Since the
exact message doesn't matter, I switched to `Array.from()`.

Intentionally not changed:

editor/libeditor/tests/browserscope/lib/richtext/richtext/js/range.js
Did not modify because this is 3rd-party code and the code uses
feature detection as a fall back when Array generics are not used.

testing/talos/talos/tests/dromaeo/lib/mootools.js
Did not modify because mootools adds the `Array.slice` method to the
`Array` object.

Not changed because they check the implementation of Array generics:

e28c807e5a Bug 1533989 - Make InputEvent.data and InputEvent.dataTransfer not expose clipboard data if user disables clipboard events r=smaug
If user disables clipboard events, it means that they don't want to expose
clipboard data to web apps even if web apps cannot handle "paste" operation.
Therefore, they must not want to leak clipboard data with `InputEvent.data`
and `InputEvent.dataTransfer`.

This patch makes `InputEvent::GetData()` and `InputEvent::GetDataTransfer()`
returns empty string or new `DataTransfer` object which has only empty string
if:
- They are called by content JS.
- The event is a trusted event.
- `inputType` value is `insertFromPaste` or `insertFromPasteAsQuotation`.

The reason why we don't return null for both is, Input Events spec declares
`data` or `dataTransfer` shouldn't be null in the `inputType` values. And
the reason why we don't return empty `DataTransfer` is, web apps may expect
at least one data is stored in non-null `dataTransfer` value.

1746417e71 Bug 1539541 - Enable FIDO U2F API, and permit registrations for Google Accounts r=keeler, qdot
Per the thread "Intent-to-Ship: Backward-Compatibility FIDO U2F support for
Google Accounts" on dev-platform [0], this bug is to:

  1. Enable the security.webauth.u2f by default, to ride the trains

  2. Remove the aOp == U2FOperation::Sign check from EvaluateAppID in
WebAuthnUtil.cpp, permitting the Google override to work for Register as
     well as Sign.

This would enable Firefox users to use FIDO U2F API on most all sites, subject
to the algorithm limitations discussed in the section "Thorny issues in
enabling our FIDO U2F API implementation" of that post.

de4e05e120 Bug 1538622 - StructuredClone serialize and deserialize should treat back reference consistently r=jorendorff
1. If an object needs a custom function to |write|, it will be added to |memory|
in |JSStructuredCloneWriter| before calling the custom function. But in
JSStructuredCloneReader::startRead we did the opposite. This will cause
out-of-order if the custom function also writes some objects (e.g.
WriteStructuredCloneImageData). We fix this by keeping the same order in
   |startRead|.
2. |JS_WriteTypedArray| should not call |writeTypedArray| directly, because it
will miss an entry in |memory| for the typed array itself. We fix this by calling
   |startWrite| instead.

2e5c884144 Bug 1489308 part 5. Align the work we do on document.open with the spec. r=mccr8,smaug
The main behavior changes are:

1) We no longer create a new Window when doing document.open(). We use the
same Window but remove all the event listeners on it and on the existing DOM
tree before removing the document's existing kids.

2) We no longer create a new session history entry. The existing one always
gets replaced instead.

3) We now support document.open on documents that are not in a Window.

The reasons for the various test changes are as follows:

The change to browser_modifiedclick_inherit_principal.js is because we no
longer set the docshell to a wyciwyg URL when document.open() happens and the
test was depending on that to terminate.

browser_wyciwyg_urlbarCopying.js is being removed because it's trying to test
wyciwyg URIs, which no longer exist.

The changes in docshell/test/navigation are because document.open() no longer
affects session history. One of the tests was testing the interactions there
and is being removed; another is being repurposed to just test that
document.open() does not affect history.length.

The change to test_x-frame-options.html is because document.open() now removes
event listeners on the window, which it didn't use to do (and in the specific
case in this test reused the existing inner too, so the listener was still
around in practice). The new behavior matches other browsers.

The removal of test_bug172261.html is because document.open() no longer affects
session history, so you can't go back across it or forward to the "opened"
state, so the situation that test is trying to test no longer exists.

The changes to test_bug255820.html are because reloading a document after
document.open() will now just load the URL of the document that was the entry
document for the open() call, not reload the written content. So there's not
much point testing reload behavior, and in this test it was just reloading the
toplevel test file inside the frames.

The change to test_bug346659.html is because now we no longer create a new
Window on document.open().

The change to test_bug1232829.html is because document.open() (implicit in this
test) no longer adds history entries, so the back() was just leaving the test
page instead of going back across the document.open(). The test is a
crashtest in practice, so might still be testing something useful about how
document.open() interacts with animations.

The change to test_bug715739.html is because the URL of the document after
document.open() is now the URL of the entry document, not a wyciwyg URL, so
reload() has different behavior than it used to.

The change to test_bug329869.html is because now when we go back we're
reloading the original document we had, not doing a wyciwyg load, and the
security info now doesn't include the untrusted script.

The changes to the wpt expectations are removing a bunch of expected failures
now that we pass those tests and disabling some tests that are fundamentally
racy and hence fail randomly. The latter all have github issues filed for the
test problem.

The change to testing/web-platform/tests/common/object-association.js is fixing
tests that were not matching the spec (and were failing in other browsers).

The change to parser-uses-registry-of-owner-document.html is fixing tests that
were not matching the spec (and were failing in other browsers).

The change to document-write.tentative.html is because the test was buggy: it
was using the same iframe element for all its tests and racing loads from some
tests against API calls from other tests, etc. It's a wonder it ever managed
to pass, independent of these patches (and in fact it doesn't pass according to
wpt.fyi data, even in Firefox).

The changes in html/browsers/history/the-history-interface are because
document.open() no longer adds history entries. The test was failing in all
other browsers for the same reason.

The changes in html/browsers/history/the-location-interface are because
reloading a document.open()-created thing now loads the URL of the page that
was the entry document for the open() call. The test was failing in all other
browsers.

The change to reload_document_open_write.html is because we now reload the url
of the document that entered the script that called open() when we reload, not
the written content. Other browsers were failing this test too; Gecko with
the old document.open implementation was the only one that passed.

The change to http-refresh.py is to fix a test bug: it was not returning a
Content-Type header, so we were putting up helper app dialogs, etc.

The change to test_ext_contentscript.js is because we no create a new global
for document.open() calls. Kris Maglione OKed this part.

InputEvent.dataTransfer should be set to non-null when InputEvent.inputType

editor is an HTMLEditor instance:
https://rawgit.com/w3c/input-events/v1/index.html#dfn-data
https://w3c.github.io/input-events/#dfn-data

("insertTranspose" and "insertFromYank" are not currently supported on Gecko.)

This patch makes nsContentUtils::DispatchInputEvent() take dataTransfer value
and EditorBase set it via AutoEditActionDataSetter like data value.

However, we need to create other constructors of DataTransfer to create its
read-only instances initialized with nsITransferable or nsAString. This will
be implemented by the following patch.

"insertTranspose", "insertReplacementText" or "insertFromYank".

bc348929b6 Bug 1515582. Remove the separate XBL scope setup. r=bholley
With these changes, XBL just runs in the window scope of whatever document it's
attached to. Since (outside of tests and "remote XUL") we no longer attach XBL
to web documents, this is fine. And "remote XUL" already ran without the XBL
scope.

Native anonymous content, which used to be placed in the XBL scope to hide it
from the page, is now placed in the unprivileged junk scope, so it stays hidden
from the page.

dom/xbl/test/test_bug944407.xul is being removed because we are changing the
behavior it's trying to test for. Since we now always put the XBL in the same
scope as the page, script is enabled for the XBL if and only if it's enabled for
the page.

dom/base/test/test_bug419527.xhtml, dom/events/test/test_bug391568.xhtml,
dom/xbl/test/test_bug1086996.xhtml are being switched to a chrome test because
otherwise the XBL can't see the getAnonymousNodes method.

All the XBL bits are being removed from test_interfaces because we no longer
have a separate XBL scope to test the behavior of.

js/xpconnect/tests/mochitest/test_nac.xhtml is being removed because XBL no
longer has access to NAC unless the page it's attached to does too, so the test
doesn't really make sense.

layout/xul/test/test_bug1197913.xul is being switched to a chrome test because
its XUL elements use bindings that rely on APIs that are not exposed to normal
web content.

layout/reftests/bugs/495385-2f.xhtml is being removed because I can't think of
a sane way to test that in the new world, short of running the reftest as
chrome. And it doesn't seem worthwhile to look for a way to do that.

dom/xbl/test/test_bug1098628_throw_from_construct.xhtml now needs to
expectUncaughtException(), because the exception is now being thrown in Window
scope.

dom/xbl/test/test_bug1359859.xhtml needs to expectUncaughtException() as needed
and not use XPCNativeWrapper (which it doesn't need to anyway now).

dom/xbl/test/test_bug389322.xhtml, dom/xbl/test/test_bug400705.xhtml,
dom/xbl/test/test_bug401907.xhtml, dom/xbl/test/test_bug403162.xhtml,
dom/xbl/test/test_bug526178.xhtml, dom/xbl/test/test_bug639338.xhtml don't need
to use XPCNativeWrapper anymore.

dom/xbl/test/test_bug821850.html is being removed because it exists only to test XBL scopes.

dom/xbl/test/file_bug950909.xml is being changed to work without a separate XBL
scope (though whether the test still makes sense at that point is a bit questionable).

36e6030c74 Bug 1514050 part 2. Stop recomputing cross-compartment wrappers on document.domain changes. r=bholley
The change to test_clonewrapper.xul is because in the new setup we've already
tried handing an object across origins via chrome code, so it has a cached
(opaque) wrapper. When we set document.domain and pass the same object again,
we end up picking up the cached wrapper when we try to wrap across the
compartment boundary, so don't grant access when perhaps we should...

This does lead to a possible spec violation in the following situation:

1) Two documents (A, B) start out same-site but different-origin.
2) Privileged code (system or extension) puts a reference to an object from
site A into site B. This object gets an opaque CCW.
3) Both sites set document.domain to become same-effective-script-origin and
then site B goes through the site A Window and the object graph hanging off it
and gets to the object involved. It gets an opaque CCW when it should have a
transparent CCW.

We could fix this if we kept recomputing wrappers on document.domain change and
just fixed the compartment filter used by the recomputation. But this seems
like a pretty rare situation, and not one web sites can get into without an
assist from a somewhat buggy extension or system code, so let's see whether we
can just live with it and remove the recomputation.

Bug 1514594: Part 3a - Change ChromeUtils.import to return an exports object; not pollute global. r=mccr8

This changes the behavior of ChromeUtils.import() to return an exports object,

scope with the module's exports. Thus, the following code written for the old

  var {Services} = ChromeUtils.import("resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm");

Since the two behaviors are mutually incompatible, this patch will land with a
scripted rewrite to update all existing callers to use the new model rather
than the old.

c17e30f6b2 Bug 1363208 part 4. Stop using cross-origin Xrays for WindowProxy. r=peterv,jandem
The change to test_bug440572.html is due to a behavior change. Specifically,
before this change, any IDL-declared property, even one not exposed
cross-origin, would prevent named frames with that name being visible
cross-origin. The new behavior is that cross-origin-exposed IDL properties
prevent corresponding frame names from being visible, but ones not exposed
cross-origin don't. This matches the spec and other browsers.

Same thing for the changes to test_bug860494.xul.

The wpt test changes are just adding test coverage for the thing the other
tests caught.

ee15b3664f Bug 1483440 - Part 1 - Remove purge-domain-data, add purge-sessionStorage notification. r=baku
The browser:purge-domain-data notification had two different intentions,
- to clear session store information and
- to clear all localStorage and sessionStorage
Firing the notification accomplished both at the same time, which from a
user perspective is of course totally not understandable. This commit
removes purge-domain-data in favor of the two distinct purge-localStorage and
purge-sessionStorage events. This gives callers more granular choice on
what they want to clear.

Testing the initial value of innerWidth and innerHeight is not really viable when

The returned value differs between the desktop and mobile browsers because of the
device constraints. The simplest thing to do is to test the CSS viewport and
ensure that the innerWidth values can be set.

ed2040ac16 Bug 1447239 - Implement InputEvent.inputType r=smaug
This patch implements InputType.inputType which is declared by Input Events.
The attribute has already been implemented by Chrome and Safari. Chrome
implements Input Events Level 1, but Safari implements Input Events Level 2.
Difference between them is only whether it supports "insertFromComposition",
"deleteByComposition" and "deleteCompositionText". This patch makes the
level switchable with pref and takes Level 1 by default because Level 2 is
still unstable around event order with composition events.

For reducing string copy cost at dispatching "input" event, this patch
makes EditorInternalInputEvent store valid input-type as enum class,
EditorInputType and resolves it to string value when
dom::InputEvent::GetInputType() is called. Note that the reason why
this patch names the enum class as EditorInputType is, there is InputType
enum class already for avoiding conflict the name, this appends "Editor"
prefix because "input" and "beforeinput" events are fired only when an
editor has focus.

bd38b39f8a Bug 1512048 - Convert tabmodalprompt binding to JSM module r=Gijs
This converts the tabmodalprompt binding to a class, to be constructed along side with the element
by TabModalPromptBox.

TabModalPromptBox will keep the instances in a map and pass it to the callers, instead of the element.
The tests and callers can access the class instance by passing the element reference to the map.
