base made bindname an attribute of nsILDAPConnection. folded all remaining code from ldapSearch.cpp into various parts of nsLDAPChannel in preparation for pushing threading down out of nsLDAPChannel and into the core SDK wrapper classes (nsILDAP{Connection,Operation,Message}). added an (as-yet unimplemented) toString method to nsILDAPMessage; some of the code in nsLDAPChannel should eventually move there. a=r=(notbuilt) 2000-06-21 04:44:58 +00:00
.cvsignore cause "cvs update" to stop whining about generated Makefiles in non-objdir builds 2000-06-06 07:23:21 +00:00
Makefile.in
makefile.win first cut at some new-style windows makefiles for the C SDK. these don't really work yet - they are being checked in to allow other developers to collaborate on them. a=r=(not built) 2000-06-16 02:35:41 +00:00

TODO.txt changed nsILDAPOperation::Result() to use PRIntervalTime rather than PRTime for the timeout value. a=r=(not built) 2000-06-16 19:16:59 +00:00

This is the home for XPCOM modules that implement LDAP functionality.

WARNING: This code is not quite ready for prime time, and has only
been built on Linux. Once a bunch of build glue gets added, then
perhaps it will be reasonable to add this code to the general
SeaMonkeyAll checkout and builds. Hopefully this won't take long; the
first four or five items in TODO.txt are the important ones.

What's Here
-----------
Right now, there is only the base component:

base/
Implements a wrapper around the LDAP C SDK, as well as support
	for ldap: URLs in the browser.  Written entirely in C++;
theoretically only depends on necko, xpcom, nspr, and the LDAP
	C SDK.

In the not-too-distant future, other components are likely to appear,
including:

rdf/
An RDF datasource, probably written in Javascript.

tests/
Some basic tests to help ensure that things don't break as
        development proceeds.

Building
--------
This requires various other pieces of infrastructure from the Mozilla
CVS tree. See <http://www.mozilla.org/directory/xpcom.html>
for now.
