@rx6ru Sometimes things fall by the wayside or dont grab the right amount of traction or simply just arent a priority for the core team. We are OSS, anyone could contribute this easily without us having to do it!

I came to request exactly this feature, considering the age of the feature request i will write a list of reasons:

  1. EXTREMELY FAST
    Between 216x and 250x real-time speed, depending on the model with a 10% or 12% word error rate respectively.
  2. FREE MONTHLY QUOTA & CHEAP AFTER
    Groq provides hours worth of free transcription quota per month. On a paid tier it is still very cheap at 4/11cents per hour.
  3. RELIABLE AND LONGLIVED
    Groq isn't a small new startup, so the effort isn't going to be wasted in a couple of months.
  4. EASY API
    They provide a very easy REST API and also an easy a SDK, putting implementation just one prompt away.

I do understand @timothycarambat point and I would contribute but I just started using this today and so I would hope for someone more familiar to tackle this. 🙏
