How are you running AnythingLLM?

AnythingLLM desktop app

What happened?

Please disable the spell checker, it is very annoying for mixed language inputs. I also has very little utility since, LLMs are good at understanding typos anyway.

Are there known steps to reproduce?

No response

We will not be disabling the spell checker in the app globally. On Mac the spellcheck dictionary is automatically determined by the system language preference; on Windows, the same should happen but it depends on what your system language is.

This is not a bug, but a feature to turn it off via user preference.

Please notice that I mentioned mixed language. Those who don't use english as their primary language are very often in this situation, where both their primary language and english needs to be used in single context. There is no good OS level preference for it.

I did notice that, I just would prefer this be a user-config option rather than something to remove globally to everyone's install, since some people for sure use the spellchecker. Totally understand the use case
