How are you running AnythingLLM?

AnythingLLM desktop app

What happened?

I’m using AnythingLLM Desktop v1.11.1 on Windows 11, and I’m having an issue with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + / to activate the Desktop Assistant.

The shortcut is supposed to trigger the Assistant, but it doesn’t work.
Interestingly, Ctrl + 1 (and other number keys) work fine.
The default shortcut as shown in the settings is Ctrl + /, but it doesn’t activate the Assistant.
Additional Info:

OS: Windows 11
App Version: v1.11.1
Language: Spanish (UI is in Spanish)
Keyboard: Spanish layout

Are there known steps to reproduce?

Open AnythingLLM Desktop v1.11.1 on Windows 11.
Go to Settings > “Configuración del asistente de escritorio” (or equivalent in English).
Confirm the shortcut is set to Ctrl + /.
Press Ctrl + / — nothing happens.
Press Ctrl + 1 — the Assistant activates successfully.

@timothycarambat commented on GitHub (Mar 7, 2026):

I am unable to replicate this on two different windows machines. Are you by chance on a different keyboard layout (either physically or via software). And also is it at all possible that the focused program, or another alltogether was actually colliding with that specific keybind?

For example, in VSCode, CTRL+/ will comment a line, which means the Desktop panel will not work in that context and basically nothing happens or only the focused programs keybinds do.
