How are you running AnythingLLM?

AnythingLLM desktop app

What happened?

What happened?

The AnythingLLM Android app is not available on the Google Play Store in Turkey. The store shows "not available in your country".

What did you expect to happen?

I expected to be able to install the app from the Play Store.

Environment:

  • Region: Turkey
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy A04e
  • Android: 14
  • Desktop version: works without issues

Are there known steps to reproduce?

Pretty sure Google Play is banned in Turkey - at least that was the news. I dont even have the option. You can still sideload: https://anythingllm.com/mobile

The country's international name changed from Turkey(in English) to Türkiye(in Turkish) a while back. That's why typing in 'Turkey' in most search fields won't bring it up anymore. 'iye' works

Pretty sure Google Play is banned in Turkey - at least that was the news.

What news is that? It's not banned. I can use it fine to download/update apps, publish my own apps, see it as a Production region in google play console > app > test and release > production > countries/regions etc.

Sometime last year wasnt there some thing that resulted in a big law suit and then Google pulled some services or something? I just very briefly recall it was a thing?

That was a dumb mistake on my part not using the global name - just saved the change
