What would you like to see?

Describe the bug
Text-to-Speech works correctly on normal chat responses but does not
activate on @agent mode responses. The TTS button/auto-read is not
shown or triggered after agent responses.

Current behaviour

  1. Configure any TTS provider (Browser Built-in, etc.)
  2. Use @agent in chat (e.g. with Brave Search enabled)
  3. Agent responds with search results
  4. TTS does not read the response

Expected behavior
TTS should work consistently in both normal chat and @agent responses.

Environment

  • AnythingLLM Versión 1.12.0
  • OS: macOS 26.4.1 (Tahoe), Apple Silicon M4
  • LLM Provider: LM Studio (local)
  • Model: gemma-4-e4b-it
  • TTS Provider: Whisper (local)

@pbxz69hrt2-cmyk Can we first confirm if this bug is appearing for you on Desktop or Docker/SelfHosted? We made a fix that is not live yet that I think would be the reason why this bug currently exists.

Otherwise, will assume Docker/Self-Hosted and investigate from there.

This is still broken in 1.12.1 in agent mode

@itsleemcguire yes, it was reported for 1.12.1 - it was fixed as soon as this issue was closed in latest and live in whatever the next version would be - in this case 1.13.0
