How are you running AnythingLLM?

AnythingLLM desktop app

What happened?

The AnythingLLM Android app is not available on the Google Play Store in Pakistan. The store shows "not available in your country", downloading the apk from the website, the app downloads and installs, can be run individually but fails to connect trying to scan QR code from the Desktop App.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected to be able to install the app from the Play Store.

Environment:

Region: Pakistan
Device: Infinix Note 50 Pro
Android: 14
Desktop version: works without issues
Are there known steps to reproduce?

Are there known steps to reproduce?

Yes

  1. Search on playstore while being in Pakistan (not in your region error).
  2. Install using the apk provided on the mobile website.
  3. Open the app -> Complete onboarding
  4. Click settings and QR scanner
  5. Scan from Desktop App
  6. Takes some time loading
  7. Fails
