* Remove all use of deprecated netty stuffs and use their replacements

not add value to the javadocs, since default `@param`, `@throws`, and
`@return` tags are provided by javadoc)

* Fix a resource leak warning about not closing ScannerOptionsHelper
(NOTE: 3 other resource leak warnings exist, but did not attempt to
fix those, since they were non-trivial)

* Use lowercase header names, for HTTP/2 compatibility (and to stop

occurrences to a variable instead of suppressing for an entire method or
an entire class
* IDE added some missing overrides annotations
* (style consistency) Replace tabs with spaces
