In a code workspace the model usually wrote a standalone HTML file when asked for a calculator or simulator, and reached generated_ui_show only when the prompt explicitly said not to write files. The tool was also deferred, so even then the model first searched for it and called it through the ToolCall bridge. The bundled server's tool is now declared up front. The skill description, skill introduction and tool description say when to use an interactive view (the user wants to change values and see results, or compare options under adjustable assumptions) and when not to (a single fact, an explicitly requested file, page or project code, or work that needs live data), and to prefer the view to a standalone HTML file when the user has not asked for one.
