6dcfafe8ab [SanitizerCoverage] Add stack depth tracing instrumentation.
Summary:
Augment SanitizerCoverage to insert maximum stack depth tracing for
use by libFuzzer. The new instrumentation is enabled by the flag
-fsanitize-coverage=stack-depth and is compatible with the existing
trace-pc-guard coverage. The user must also declare the following
global variable in their code:
  thread_local uintptr_t __sancov_lowest_stack

f524386039 [OptDiag] Updating Remarks in SampleProfile
Updating remark API to newer OptimizationDiagnosticInfo API. This
allows remarks to show up in diagnostic yaml file, and enables use
of opt-viewer tool.

Hotness information for remarks (L505 and L751) do not display hotness
information, most likely due to profile information not being
propagated yet. Unsure if this is the desired outcome.

Patch by Tarun Rajendran.

ad8bced2d5 [ICP] Migrate to OptimizationRemarkEmitter
This is a module pass so for the old PM, we can't use ORE, the function
analysis pass. Instead ORE is created on the fly.

A few notes:

- isPromotionLegal is folded in the caller since we want to emit the Function
in the remark but we can only do that if the symbol table look-up succeeded.

- There was good test coverage for remarks in this pass.

- promoteIndirectCall uses ORE conditionally since it's also used from
SampleProfile which does not use ORE yet.

Fixes PR33792.

65711ad4e3 [PGO] Resubmit "MST based PGO instrumentation infrastructure" (r254021)
This new patch fixes a few bugs that exposed in last submit. It also improves

--Original Commit Message--
This patch implements a minimum spanning tree (MST) based instrumentation for
PGO. The use of MST guarantees minimum number of CFG edges getting
instrumented. An addition optimization is to instrument the less executed
edges to further reduce the instrumentation overhead. The patch contains both the
instrumentation and the use of the profile to set the branch weights.

d4052cf84c Android support for SafeStack.
Add two new ways of accessing the unsafe stack pointer:

* At a fixed offset from the thread TLS base. This is very similar to

* Via a function call, as a fallback for platforms that provide

e9149f4f8c [ASan] Initial support for Kernel AddressSanitizer
This patch adds initial support for the -fsanitize=kernel-address flag to Clang.
Right now it's quite restricted: only out-of-line instrumentation is supported, globals are not instrumented, some GCC kasan flags are not supported.
Using this patch I am able to build and boot the KASan tree with LLVMLinux patches from github.com/ramosian-glider/kasan/tree/kasan_llvmlinux.
To disable KASan instrumentation for a certain function attribute((no_sanitize("kernel-address"))) can be used.

7ffec838a2 Protection against stack-based memory corruption errors using SafeStack
This patch adds the safe stack instrumentation pass to LLVM, which separates
the program stack into a safe stack, which stores return addresses, register
spills, and local variables that are statically verified to be accessed
in a safe way, and the unsafe stack, which stores everything else. Such
separation makes it much harder for an attacker to corrupt objects on the
safe stack, including function pointers stored in spilled registers and
return addresses. You can find more information about the safe stack, as
well as other parts of or control-flow hijack protection technique in our
OSDI paper on code-pointer integrity (http://dslab.epfl.ch/pubs/cpi.pdf)
and our project website (http://levee.epfl.ch).

The overhead of our implementation of the safe stack is very close to zero
(0.01% on the Phoronix benchmarks). This is lower than the overhead of
stack cookies, which are supported by LLVM and are commonly used today,
yet the security guarantees of the safe stack are strictly stronger than
stack cookies. In some cases, the safe stack improves performance due to
better cache locality.

Our current implementation of the safe stack is stable and robust, we
used it to recompile multiple projects on Linux including Chromium, and
we also recompiled the entire FreeBSD user-space system and more than 100
packages. We ran unit tests on the FreeBSD system and many of the packages
and observed no errors caused by the safe stack. The safe stack is also fully
binary compatible with non-instrumented code and can be applied to parts of
a program selectively.

This patch is our implementation of the safe stack on top of LLVM. The
patches make the following changes:

- Add the safestack function attribute, similar to the ssp, sspstrong and
  sspreq attributes.

- Add the SafeStack instrumentation pass that applies the safe stack to all
functions that have the safestack attribute. This pass moves all unsafe local
variables to the unsafe stack with a separate stack pointer, whereas all
safe variables remain on the regular stack that is managed by LLVM as usual.

- Invoke the pass as the last stage before code generation (at the same time
the existing cookie-based stack protector pass is invoked).

- Add unit tests for the safe stack.

Original patch by Volodymyr Kuznetsov and others at the Dependable Systems
Lab at EPFL; updates and upstreaming by myself.

cddf82ae35 [SanitizerCoverage] Introduce SanitizerCoverageOptions struct.
Summary:
This gives frontend more precise control over collected coverage
information. User can still override these options by passing
-mllvm flags.

No functionality change.

d4f875c64f InstrProf: Instrumenter support for setting profile output from command line
This change is the second of 3 patches to add support for specifying
the profile output from the command line via -fprofile-instr-generate=<path>,
where the specified output path/file will be overridden by the
LLVM_PROFILE_FILE environment variable.

This patch adds the necessary support to the llvm instrumenter, specifically
a new member of GCOVOptions for clang to save the specified filename, and
support for calling the new compiler-rt interface from __llvm_profile_init.

Patch by Teresa Johnson. Thanks!

6837ab53fb GCOV: Make the exit block placement from r223193 optional
By default we want our gcov emission to stay 4.2 compatible, which
means we need to continue emit the exit block last by default. We add
an option to emit it before the body for users that need it.

282314741d SpecialCaseList: Add support for parsing multiple input files.
Summary:
This change allows users to create SpecialCaseList objects from
multiple local files. This is needed to implement a proper support
for -fsanitize-blacklist flag (allow users to specify multiple blacklists,
in addition to default blacklist, see PR22431).

DFSan can also benefit from this change, as DFSan instrumentation pass now
accepts ABI-lists both from -fsanitize-blacklist= and -mllvm -dfsan-abilist flags.

Go bindings are fixed accordingly.

70b0751080 InstrProf: An intrinsic and lowering for instrumentation based profiling
Introduce the ``llvm.instrprof_increment`` intrinsic and the
``-instrprof`` pass. These provide the infrastructure for writing
counters for profiling, as in clang's ``-fprofile-instr-generate``.

The implementation of the instrprof pass is ported directly out of the
CodeGenPGO classes in clang, and with the followup in clang that rips
that code out to use these new intrinsics this ends up being NFC.

Doing the instrumentation this way opens some doors in terms of
improving the counter performance. For example, this will make it
simple to experiment with alternate lowering strategies, and allows us
to try handling profiling specially in some optimizations if we want
to.

Finally, this drastically simplifies the frontend and puts all of the
lowering logic in one place.

abb3335f6d Move asan-coverage into a separate phase.
Summary:
This change moves asan-coverage instrumentation
into a separate Module pass.
The other part of the change in clang introduces a new flag
-fsanitize-coverage=N.
Another small patch will update tests in compiler-rt.

With this patch no functionality change is expected except for the flag name.
The following changes will make the coverage instrumentation work with tsan/msan

Test Plan: Run regression tests, chromium.
