I have been re-playing Red Dead Redemption and upgraded from .39.x to .40.x when I was prompted a number of times after initially loading it after a number of months of not using the software. I see there are daily alpha update prompts; it's now crashing occasionally after the upgrade. I'm not sure why, nor do I know where to submit logs to fix the problem. It's clear, however, that upgrading to .40.x has caused it to become LESS stable than it was before the upgrades as it did not crash with the previous version.
Anyway, posting here because it seems like stable releases should be a thing with this application, but it appears only alpha releases are updated daily and are incessantly prompted. This should NOT be a common experience. In other words, you should publish stable releases and only prompt on those, rather than DAILY (sometimes multiple times per day) updates.
