David Greene 30db0c28de Add option to keep flavor out of the install directory
Sometimes we want to install things in "standard" locations and the
flavor directories interfere with that.  Add an option to keep them
out of the install path.

# from "staging" are applied to "commit" and committed upstream after
# a successful build and test run. A successful build is one in which
# testing results in no more failures than seen in the testing of the
# "official" tree.
