[SimlifyCFG] Prevent passes from destroying canonical loop structure, especially for nested loops
When eliminating or merging almost empty basic blocks, the existence of non-trivial PHI nodes is currently used to recognize potential loops of which the block is the header and keep the block. However, the current algorithm fails if the loops' exit condition is evaluated only with volatile values hence no PHI nodes in the header. Especially when such a loop is an outer loop of a nested loop, the loop is collapsed into a single loop which prevent later optimizations from being applied (e.g., transforming nested loops into simplified forms and loop vectorization). The patch augments the existing PHI node-based check by adding a pre-test if the BB actually belongs to a set of loop headers and not eliminating it if yes. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@264596 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM) ================================ This directory and its subdirectories contain source code for LLVM, a toolkit for the construction of highly optimized compilers, optimizers, and runtime environments. LLVM is open source software. You may freely distribute it under the terms of the license agreement found in LICENSE.txt. Please see the documentation provided in docs/ for further assistance with LLVM, and in particular docs/GettingStarted.rst for getting started with LLVM and docs/README.txt for an overview of LLVM's documentation setup. If you are writing a package for LLVM, see docs/Packaging.rst for our suggestions.
