does anyone know what's the missing recipe if using deepseek vs claude code?

@sprappcom are you asking why deepseek on opencode isn't as good?

In my experience deepseek is just not the best tool calling model, you would likely have more success using kimi 2, qwen3 coder, or an anthropic model on opencode rather than deepseek, at least if you are wanting a better agent in your terminal (since these models are more reliable at tool calls).
