If you use CLAUDE.md so that you can also use also claude code, then /init will create a AGENTS.md file rather than just modifying the existing CLAUDE.md. My understand is that CLAUDE.md will be picked up nonetheless.

It almost feels like maybe it should ask first, some people want their CLAUDE.md separate but I like the idea

I kinda wish /init just created opencode.jsonc and filled in instructions array w/ relevant file name(s) if I already have rules I manage

i don't disagree that /init isn't super reliable. certainly the first generation its fine for just getting something up and running but i've only manually reviewed it and adjusted it to my liking.
