Currently Ctrl+N and Ctrl+P are always next/previous message. I would like to use them for readline up/down movements.
Ideally configurable in keybinds setting (possibly also including other readline bindings if possible)

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #957: Similar request for readline-style Ctrl+N and Ctrl+P bindings, specifically for menu navigation (closed)
  • #72: Request for Ctrl+N/Ctrl+P navigation when searching (closed)
  • #1975: Related issue about ctrl key combinations not working as expected for text navigation

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
