This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #496: Reports absurd amount of CPU and memory usage during path completion
  • #679: Documents 30-50% CPU usage per process with performance degradation
  • #805: High CPU usage comparison (~20% vs ~3% in Claude)
  • #811: Very high CPU usage even when idle, with slow text rendering
  • #2083: Significant performance regression with text animation causing 100% CPU usage across all cores
  • #731: Comprehensive stability analysis covering memory and CPU performance issues

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

cpu spikes arent exactly due to model, it is just bubbletea, soon tui will get rewritten and fixed

as for those bad function call chunks, that is grok we can try to prompt for it and maybe our prompt will change but that isnt necessarily our fault

Going to close this as we have a few tickets already tracking performance issues, I hope the move to opentui is done in next week or so and that should address these issues quite effectively
