Particularly useful when another (non-child) directory becomes relevant mid-conversation. Allows MCP servers to access these new directories. (Other package in monorepo, user config directories, etc.)

I came across this as well when looking for server-filesystem to support the roots so the allow list is dynamically managed by the client. This would be nice as a way to simplify some MCP server consumption while maintaining a nice secure definition of what it can touch.
