Maybe there's value in directly being able to register a tool from a plugin.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #2237: Native TypeScript Toolsets for .opencode (code-first tools for subagents) - This proposes a very similar mechanism for adding tools through TypeScript modules that can be mounted by subagents
  • #2185: Hooks for commands (Plugin Commands) - Discusses plugin developers being able to define commands/tools instead of requiring them to be in the commands directory

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
