Not completely sure how/if this differs from the recent changes to prune old context. (Feel free to close if it's clearly unnecessary given what opencode is already doing.)

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #1014: Context editing feature request for removing conversation paths and editing current context
  • #1990: Feature request for user controls for context management including /drop, /list, /tokens commands
  • #2841: Context length issue and better context inspector discussion (closed but related)

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

Also https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/memory-tool
I'd assume there's some value in supporting the memory tools (as opposed to relying on opencode specific tools), assuming sonnet 4.5 is specifically trained to use it?

I think to answer your first question opencode handles it somewhat similarly now but I will have to double check

As for memory someone brought that up today, I think it'll eventually get added

Seems like the new memory tool that's in beta is relevant here. https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/agents-and-tools/tool-use/memory-tool
