What is the mechanism for specifying permissions for mcp servers? I don't see any examples of that on the permissions page

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #2748: This issue discusses the same problem - how to add permission control for MCP servers/tools. It provides detailed technical context about how MCP tools currently bypass OpenCode's permission system while built-in tools require approval.

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I'm confused, is this possible but not documented? or is it not yet supported?

If i have a mcp server for my database it is fairly likely that I'd want different permissions for read and write operations.
