Description

When typing Japanese, characters become incomplete, and repeatedly deleting or inserting characters makes it even worse.

Since half-width alphanumeric characters also appear this way, it seems Japanese text isn't the only thing getting corrupted.

OpenCode version

Steps to reproduce

  1. Input Japanese character.
  2. Edit some

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #2920: TUI editor hides some double-byte characters in the input field - Similar issue with Japanese/CJK characters not displaying correctly in input fields
  • #3199: Mouse Generates Garbled Text Input & Blocks User Input - Similar garbled text issues during input that make OpenCode unusable
  • #2593: [bug] opencode produces gabled text when input containing non-ascii characters - Similar issue with non-ASCII characters getting corrupted into garbled text
  • #3260: Language environment UI display issues - Related to character display issues with non-English languages
  • #2013: Korean characters disappear in the input prompt when using WezTerm/Ghostty - Similar issue with CJK characters disappearing during input

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

Going to mark this as a duplciate of #3296

I think this can be addressed by some changes we are doing when we migrate to opentui
