  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

Can we have the Big Pickle for example appear both under Zen and in the resents, this I believe will make things clearer. I can do it myself and open a PR if you want it to function like this.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #3872: Both issues address UI organization concerns about multiple lists being displayed simultaneously, potentially causing visual clutter. #3872 specifically mentions "3 lists showing at once sometimes" and suggests removing duplicate list displays for cleaner UI, which is very similar to your request for separating recents from model lists.

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I was "bitten" by this same "bug". I wasn't aware that recent models do not show up elsewhere. So for example if Github Copilot Claude Opus 4.5 is under "Recent" and then you try to search for it in the model list or go to the Github Copilot section in the list, you won't find it there..

Combined with https://github.com/sst/opencode/issues/5533, the UI makes it impossible to select models you haven't used in a while...

It's confusing UX to say the least.

Any solution should probably give the same treatment to favourited models as well. A model that is both recent and a favourite should appear three times: in the favourites, in the recents, and in its actual provider's subgroup.
