  • #4027: System theme in macOS with ghostty doesn't apply opacity - This issue specifically mentions that "One regression I still see after system theme was shipped for the version 1.* is that it doesn't pick up the opacity" which is very similar to your report about losing support for transparent/no background with version 1.
