Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

opencode is asking for permission to read every single file - if it is not from the current app directory. Suppose, I am giving a reference to another repo - and - ask it to read and prepare some analysis - it generally initiates a subagent and works in background. Now, that subagent does not move because it needs permission to read the file. And - this is not like giving permission one time - for every file. Instead if we can give read permissions to a directory - not completely like add-dir of claude - where claude cli thinks the other dir is also part of the project - but - read permissions at directory level.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #1543: Similar request for adding directories/creating workspaces functionality
  • #4078: Directly addresses the sub-agent permission visibility problem you mentioned
  • #3205: Related discussion about file permission workflow improvements
  • #4023: Deals with filesystem access outside current working directory
  • #3218: (Closed) Previous request to disable external file access restrictions

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I guess some of the above requests together address my problem. So, I don't see the need for keeping another issue open.
