Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

I searched the best I could the issues, I think it hasn't been reported. Pre 1.0.0, pasting a file path or a folder path would reference said file/folder to the agent, but now it just pastes the plain text. I used that functionality a lot, I would love it if it was added back

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #3624: 1.0.0 - pasting file path into terminal doesn't 'link' to proper file path (describes the exact same functionality loss where pasting file paths no longer automatically references them)
  • #3714: OpenTUI: Opening a chat with a file path breaks OpenCode (related to file path handling issues in 1.0+)
  • #3910: Pasting file paths with line references causes error (mentions that pre-1.0 versions used to pick up files correctly regardless of format)
  • #3947: vscode extension: adding file to opencode doesn't work in 1.0+ (VSCode extension file referencing broken in 1.0+)
  • #4011: bug: referencing file causes issue (ongoing issues with file referencing in recent versions)

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
