Description

Before 1.0, in Home and Session modes, once I set a model for each agent, tab-switching between then would correctly switch their model with them.

Ever since at least 1.0, I see that the behavior split: in the home screen the model is sticky, but the in the session mode it behaves like before.

OpenCode version

1.0.110

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start opencode
  2. Set different models for each agent in the Home screen
  3. Use tab to alternate between agents, see the models are sticky.
  4. Send a message to start the session mode, repeat.
  5. Use tab to alternate between agents, see the models correctly alternate.

In https://github.com/sst/opencode/pull/4741 - I proposed a fix to this alleged bug. It is not clear to me if the old behavior is actually the intended one, but it is the one I became used to.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #4344: Selected model for agent in TUI doesn't stick between Agent Alternation - describes the same model stickiness issue but in session mode (Plan/Build agents)
  • #1661: Model switch automatically when changing the mode - related issue with model switching behavior between modes

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.
