Agreed. It would be beneficial to have a stable branch that undergoes extensive testing, and then a nightly channel for those who prefer this level of speed.

I also wouldn't mind a stable release channel. Right now each release brings new bugs in, while fixing others, so I've been mostly sticking to one version that works for me until I encounter a bug that forces me to upgrade.

you can set OPENCODE_DISABLE_AUTOUPDATE=1 in you environment to disable autoupdate if one version is fine for you, then proceed with manual updates

On my side it's very cool to have so much work on such a great tool , but with the dev speed pace of this project I doubt developpers can follow all latests changes in terms of security. As js world is very exposed in supply chain attacks, I chose to disable auto update now that current version works pretty well for me.

I'll update manually from time to time to keep up with enhencements.
