Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

Hello, I'm often doing npm i opencode and it doesn't work because it is npm i opencode-ai. But opencode is available. Why not using it? Also, from a security standpoint, it would be better to use opencode because opencode could be parked with malware and people running npm i opencode thinking it is the correct name would download the malware and be infected.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #4592: Leftover dot-prefixed temp directory in global node_modules breaks npm -g update on Windows - discusses issues with the current opencode-ai package name and npm package management

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I tried to reserve it with content similar to https://npmjs.com/package/claude-code pointing to the opencode-ai package, but got error: Package name too similar to existing package open-code
So that's probably the reason.
