It does support pasting images but it depends on your terminal and OS etc.

What's your environment?
If it's macOS and VS Code then a fix is in https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/pull/6127 (not merged yet)
If you're using Zed there seems to be an existing open issue as mentioned above #4687

I'm on Windows 11 and I really can't paste it on. Does it also depend on whether the current model supports image understanding? Like minimax M2.1 or GLM 4.7?

It doesn't matter about the model I can still paste it in

Can you try using a different terminal and see if it works?

Seems like there's an issue with powershell and pasting images see https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/issues/6560

Can you try using another terminal and see if it works?
e.g. https://alacritty.org/ or VS Code

I use the preview version of powershell, and I can paste it in vscode's terminal. That should be PowerShell's failure
