Description

I tried shift-enter, it just submits.

Yes there is #1505, but it's closed. So unless it's re-opened, this isn't a duplicate of any existing issue.

I use MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1

In plain Terminal it doesn't work.

It does work in my iTerm2 and Oh My Zsh.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #4046: Shift-return does not input newline since 1.0
  • #5870: Shift+Enter line break not working in Warp terminal (only Ctrl+J works)
  • #3193: Multiline editing
  • #1505: shift+enter keybinding not working

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

+1 it would be great for shift-enter to create a new line in the prompt in addition to shift-ctrl-j.

So, is it enter or return on Mac? confused as everyone mixes them. It doesn't work for me on VS Code
