There was a bug in v1.1.33 that caused this issue. The problem has now been fixed in v1.1.34.
If you previously downgraded and disabled auto-updates as a workaround, you can safely re-enable them and upgrade now.

OpenCode Desktop

1. Go to the Latest Release

Visit the v1.1.34 release page:
https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/releases/tag/v1.1.34

2. Open Assets

Scroll to the bottom of the page and expand the Assets section if it is collapsed.

3. Download and Install

Choose the file that matches your operating system:

  • Windows: .exe

  • macOS: .dmg

    • aarch64 for Apple Silicon (M1 / M2 / M3)
    • x64 for Intel Macs
  • Linux: .AppImage or .deb

Install it normally after downloading.

OpenCode CLI (Web)

OpenCode CLI pulls the UI from app.opencode.ai, so there is no other fix than waiting for OpenCode to update it.

I think opencode web serves https://app.opencode.ai which is still on the old version. Am interested in whether this issue is still happening on Desktop

You're not alone, what's even worse is that I was also messing with oh-my-opencode.

Why would opencode web has anything to do with the online version https://app.opencode.ai/? I thought the web UI is packed within the commandline itself, no?

Again, opencode web is still suffering this issue (for 1.1.34).

Turns out opencode web actually proxies http://127.0.0.1:4096 to the online version https://app.opencode.ai/, see: https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/blob/c130dd425a32fe1c1cd3747ea6565b0e6bf50100/packages/opencode/src/server/server.ts#L500-L515 .

This is rather surprising, and I assume it would break with offline or isolated environment. Someone attempted to fix that (#6218) but did not get merged. I guess we'll have to wait for the team to update the website.

Unfortunately, you're right. opencode web is still not fixed. I even tried rolling back to an earlier version, only to discover that the web version is hardcoded to point to https://app.opencode.ai/. It looks like we'll just have to wait for a fix.:(

There was a bug in v1.1.33 that caused this issue. The problem has now been fixed in v1.1.34. If you previously downgraded and disabled auto-updates as a workaround, you can safely re-enable them and upgrade now.

OpenCode Desktop

1. Go to the Latest Release

Visit the v1.1.34 release page: https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/releases/tag/v1.1.34

2. Open Assets

Scroll to the bottom of the page and expand the Assets section if it is collapsed.

3. Download and Install

Choose the file that matches your operating system:

  • Windows: .exe

  • macOS: .dmg

    • aarch64 for Apple Silicon (M1 / M2 / M3)
    • x64 for Intel Macs
  • Linux: .AppImage or .deb

Install it normally after downloading.

OpenCode CLI (Web)

OpenCode CLI pulls the UI from app.opencode.ai, so there is no other fix than waiting for OpenCode to update it.

when you say "Linux: .AppImage or .deb" -- did you actually see that as I have not been able to find a .AppImage
