Question

Hello!

I'm trying to use Sonnet 4.5, but currently it returns to me that it has 3.7 activated, I'm wondering if that's something from opencode or if my account fallbacks to 3.7. Is this normal?

opencode tries a lot to avoid answering which model is using behind the scenes, why is it doing that?

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #10272: Hidden calls Haiku - Related to models being called without user awareness
  • #8551: Using --prompt causes the wrong model to be selected
  • #8349: Model selection is 'lost' on continuation and Agent selection is 'lost' on compaction
  • #7948: TUI: User selected agent/model is overwritten by server defaults when creating a new session
  • #6636: Subagent with specific model results in model change in build and plan mode
  • #9296: Experimental plan mode handover -> build uses plan agent's model
  • #4475: Plugins using noReply seem to cause model to switch to agent default
  • #9065: [FEATURE]: add model identity info to system prompt - Directly addresses your question about why OpenCode avoids disclosing which model is being used
  • #10247: [FEATURE]: Add a variable {CURRENT_MODEL} for commands - Request to expose current model information

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

Was the claude-sonnet-4.5 model being used through Zen or another provider?

So this actually looks like an Anthropic issue, I tried to repro on claude code & opencode and it just seems the models have an identity issue. We have confirmed the models are the models as listed.

@R44VC0RP gotcha, appreciate it, and it was through Anthropic not Zen
