This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #8038: windows: cannot type in newline with shift enter.
  • #4046: Shift-return does not input newline since 1.0
  • #7248: unable to insert new line in prompt box in MacOS Tahoe basic Terminal

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

For keybind-related issues, please also check our pinned keybinds documentation: #4997

That is indeed odd. I cannot reproduce that on other platforms like macos/linux. Maybe @Hona has an idea.

Yeah it's something I want to make work easier OOTB with some windows magic.

For now you have to configure windows terminal settings to emit the correct escape codes.. see my gist here: https://gist.github.com/Hona/7e4d5467b14a52fa428706b6dc7f0895

(hint - ask opencode to apply it to your windows terminal settings file!)

A side qustion: Is there a way to achieve line breaks with Enter, and send messages with Ctrl+Enter or Shift+Enter in the Windows terminal?
