Feature hasn't been suggested before.

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

There is a discussion in the agent skills standard git repo on what the standard directory for skills should be and the consensus is .agents/skills/

Current docs say only .opencode/skills and .claude/skills/ are supported currently.

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #10430: [FEATURE]: Portable Agent Packages with Bundled Skills - proposes standardized skills structure
  • #7213: Support for agentskills.io Standard - requests support for the external standard referenced here
  • #8533: [FEATURE]: Allow custom skills directories - would enable custom skills directory configuration
  • #10964: [FEATURE]: Auto-discovery of nested skills - related skills discovery approach

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

Of those then #7213 is almost a duplicate, but it's inaccurate.

This is merged but I'm under 1.1.53 and still ignored. Did we miss anything?

In the console version 1.1.59, it also failed to load, but it works fine in the desktop version.

I can reproduce that .agents paths are not used in the cli version 1.2.1 (on NixOS). I had to symlink to .opencode/skills .
