Description

Anthropic models have stopped using extended thinking again with the GitHub Copilot provider. It appears that GPT-style thinking budget variants (low, medium, high) are being used, which Anthropic simply ignores/passes through without actually enabling extended thinking mode.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use GitHub Copilot provider with any Anthropic model
  2. Enable thinking budget (low/medium/high)
  3. Send any prompt - model responds without extended thinking
  4. In 1.1.41 the same setup produced visible thinking blocks (high, max)

Yeah this was intentional I have to go back to completions endpoint temporarily, you can track stuff here: #6864
