Description

Image The error says Copilot doesn't support this model, but in reality only the Claude model cannot be used properly, while others like Gemini can still be successfully called. I can also use Claude normally within my Copilot. Why is this happening?

This issue might be a duplicate of existing issues. Please check:

  • #10502: Model not supported - general issue with model support
  • #8829: "The requested model is not supported." while using gemini3pro in Github Copilot - similar error when using specific models
  • #11473: The requested model is not supported with model settings guidance - similar GitHub Copilot model issue
  • #5566: Error saying The requested model is not supported when trying to create new agent - Claude model-specific issue

Feel free to ignore if none of these address your specific case.

I solved this problem using brew install anomalyco/tap/opencode on Mac, but what should I do on Windows?

Trying to use GPT-5.2-Codex via GitHub Copilot Enterprise and I'm getting this, and it's enabled on the account

Now of course 5.3 is out, same issue

The opus-4.6 model can be accessed normally in copilot, but when logging into the copilot account in OpenCode and using the Claude-related model, this error message appears.
