The Knight Rider spinner indicates that it is running and (so far as could be detected) not 'stuck'.

When using certain models, such as GPT-5.2, the Knight Rider spinner runs for a long time, and we don't know what it's doing. Therefore, we want to show more details what it's currently doing. For example, in this case, the Knight Rider spinner ran for at least 60 minutes, and I had to interrupt it. The same problem was solved in half an hour with gemini-3-pro-preview:

I think that that is just a difference in model behaviour. I don't know that the APIs involved actually provide us with any way to view any more detailed real time diagnostic information as its work proceeds.
