GLM 5 just came out, it's available in the z.ai coding plan. How do I use it if OpenCode is not aware of this model? #9091

Sorry for such a basic question, if someone could please help!

The model is available now, but since opencode isn't aware of it I'm stuck waiting for an opencode update. Is there a way to have opencode use GLM-5?

In opencode we source our models via models.dev (https://github.com/anomalyco/models.dev). So if you want to access it via the z.ai coding plan under models.dev then it will be available via OpenCode.

We will add it to OpenCode Zen when a good provider comes up.

For GLM Coding Plan subscribers: Due to limited compute capacity, we’re rolling out GLM-5 to Coding Plan users gradually.

Max plan users: You can enable GLM-5 now by updating the model name to "GLM-5" (e.g. in ~/.claude/settings.json for Claude Code).
Other plan tiers: Support will be added progressively as the rollout expands.
Quota note: Requests to GLM-5 consume more plan quota than GLM-4.7.

I found the reason. I'm not sure what's going on with "zai", but currently, pro users of zhipu-coding-plan in China can't use it; they need to have max. It's said that pro and lite will be supported gradually later, but there's an additional "weekly call limit", and I don't know what's going on.

it is added now dev/providers/zai-coding-plan/models/glm-5.toml

just run opencode models --refresh and it should be there
