Description

I currently have some sessions that start with New session - 2026-02-15T09:48:58.885Z

Early on, this wasn't a bug. But in some latest releases, it has been added somehow & some sessions are no longer renamed.

This bug doesn't happen all the time. But it happens at times.

  • #9902: Show error message when session auto-naming fails due to disabled small model
  • #5097: When use vertex models (like gemini 3 pro preview) no session name generated.
  • #4133: [FEATURE]: Use a cheap model to name sessions

These issues describe the same symptom where sessions are not being auto-named/renamed and instead retain the default "New session - timestamp" format.
